A porcelain, pear shaped design by Elda Creations for Limoges. Shades of green holly with red berries, and finished with a mirror-like silver ribbon. Lovely realistic crown ornament top, painted in a brushed gold. The hinge, bands, ornament loop at top, and holly leaf closure, are all in a brushed gold tone metal. The box opens up to Santa holding a gift. The inside top is marked Elda Creations Peint a la Main (hand painted) Limoges, France. A beautiful piece to display on a stand or hang in a special spot. Great condition. Rarely displayed. Never hung from a tree. Gently stored for many years. No known chips or cracks. Because of the nature of the mirror-like silver you may see some light imperfections, and there is a very small pin size dent on the ribbon to the left of the closure. It may have always been there and I noticed it while magnifying to take photos. Its so small it was even harder to capture it again ((photo 9). Overall the ornament still looks very nice. Please NOTE: Very gently and carefully open the box by inserting your thumbnail and lifting up. Be careful not to open too fully as the hinge is very delicate and not meant to be stretched open. Just open enough to view the Santa and the the inscription. Please see all photos.
