Lionel 375-33 Turntable REPRO Flex Couplings, Pair, my design...proven to work

Description: Lionel 375-33 Turntable REPRODUCTION Flexible Couplings, Pair, my design...proven to work These parts were developed out of my need to replace the dried-out and hardened original parts which transmit the power from the motor and gear-train in the turntable center housing to the angle-shaft, and then again to the drive wheel at the turntable ring-rail. The second to last photo shows the old couplings, showing where they are on the Turntable. The last shot shows the relative thickness as compared to the new pieces. I have done my best to make the images equal in scale...but the old one is shown slightly larger. Still - the difference in thickness is obvious. After several rounds of experimentation I found that a particular type and size of rubber tubing fits perfectly, flexes better that the original, and is not as bulky as the very thick original pieces. I had previously tried to bond the old parts to the shafts involved without success. THESE NEW COUPLINGS ARE EASILY STRETCHED TO SLIDE ONTO THE THREE SHAFTS INVOLVED, AND CAN THEN BE SLID ON EQUALLY W/R/T EACH END TO ASSEMBLE THE DRIVELINE WITH EVEN AMOUNTS OF INSERTION ACROSS EACH OF THE FLEX POINTS. Bottom line: THEY WORK GREAT on my modified 375 which has a lengthened bridge (24") and now carries T-Rail track. The load being carried and turned by my modified turntable is easily twice the original spec, with the same turntable pivot, steel plate deck and tinplate ring rail.
