It is an Original Lithograph on paper, depicting Hebrew lettering, on top left, followed by scenes and figures from The Old Testament - Jacob's Ladder, at center and an archangel, lower right and much more and composed in his flowing, dream-like style. We believe it dates from the 1960's - '70's.3/4" Wide, Black rounded wood moulding (bullnose) and glazing are included in this listing.Image measures 14 3/4" Wide and approx. 20 1/2" Tall and is in Good to Very Good Vintage condition with some waviness. Outside measure of the frame is 17 X 21 and is in Fair to Good Vintage condition, structurally sound but scraped & scuffed.Please carefully examine all images for condition.Apologies for glare or reflection in images due to photographing under glazing. *Phillip Ratner (1937-2023) Ratner has spent many years working in sculpture, painting, etched glass, tapestry, drawing, and the graphic arts. In 1984, Phillip Ratner opened The Israel Bible Museum in Safad, Israel. Since then, Ratner has spent most of his time there developing over 250 works of art on the Bible in sculpture, painting and graphics. This work continues. In addition, he has completed many private commissions and public works. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, the United States Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the White House, The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island*. In 1984, Ratner took his life's inspiration and dream, the Bible, and made it the focus of his impassioned work by founding the Israel Bible Museum in Safed, Israel. With degrees from the Pratt Institute and American University, Ratner taught school in the Washington, D.C. area for 23 years, at the same time building his reputation as an international artist. Throughout this period, Phillip has actively supported various charities and organizations.
