Description: This is a 2 map set which shows where many of the homeowners resided in Little Compton, Rhode Island in 1870. These fine maps were recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat. The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps! Due to large areas covered by the maps, many of the names of the homeowners are quite small. The first map shows the entire Town of Little Compton. The second map shows the town of Middletown which also contains 2 inset maps of Little Compton Common and Adamsville. Truly a great matching set!! It's hard to make out the specifics from my poor picture however it's clearly detailed on the actual maps! Some of the surnames which are printed are Richmond, Simmons, Russell, Palmer, Thompson, Tabor, Almy, Seabury and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, businesses, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams. It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything!
