Description: Lledo / Stevelyn Diecast Model 1931 Morris VanRDP Publications Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, taking over a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. Models produced by the Enfield-based company became popular among collectors worldwide. The Days Gone range celebrates the bygone days of road transport, with trucks, vans and other vehicles, many featuring famous brands and household names of the past and present. Lledo specialised in the Promotional market, making models for companies and organisations who wanted to have their own logo or livery on a model. They also branched out into the souvenir business, with their "View Vans" and "Souvenir Bus" series, produced under a partnership between Lledo, who manufactured the models, and Stevelyn, who finished them. This model depicts a 1931 Morris Van. It was commissioned by RDP Publications, the publishers of the world-respected Lledo Collectors Guides, to promote their own business. This promotional model comes in its original "View Vans" style box, but as it was not a regular release as part of that series, the box does not show the View Vans logo. Good pre-owned condition. In original box, which does have minor wear and some light creasing, but is generally sound, with no serious rips, splits or taped-up corners. Model itself is clean and appears to be in near-mint condition. See photos - all photos show actual item.
