Lolò Soldevilla was a mostly self-taught artist whose work became recognized in the 1950s. She was a multi-talented artist, also working as a musician and cultural promoter. Her work transitioned from figurative to abstract with geometric motifs. She developed the innovative Color Light theory with her LUMINEX RELIEFS (incorporating light into her abstract designs). Her paintings, collages, and panels explored color, light and shadow effects to give the pieces a sense of movement. In 1957, along with artist Pedro de Oraà, she founded the Color Light Art Gallery to stimulate the development of abstract art in Cuba. This space brought together the "10 Concrete Painters" group, of which she was the only female member. In 1963, she founded the ESPACIO group, where she taught workshops aimed at linking visual arts with theater. Lolò Soldevilla fue una artista casi autodidacta cuya obra se reconoce a partir de la década de 1950.Tuvo un gran talento, incursionó como músico y promotora cultural. Su obra transitó desde la figuración a una abstracción con motivos geométricos. Desarrolló la innovadora teoría Color Luz con sus RELIEVES LUMINEX (incorporando luz a sus diseños abstractos). Pinturas, collages y paneles exploraban efectos de color, luz y sombra para adjudicar a las piezas un sentido de movimiento. En 1957 junto al artista Pedro de Oraà funda la Galería de Arte Color Luz para estimular el desarrollo del arte abstracto en Cuba, este espacio fue el centro que aglutinó al grupo “10 pintores Concretos”, del cual fue la única miembro femenina. En 1963 funda el grupo ESPACIO donde impartió talleres con la intención de vincular las artes visuales con el teatro. Fue una mujer que se anticipó a su tiempo y que permaneció pintando hasta su muerte en 1971
