Description: Magnificent Antique Carved Wood Picture Frame fits 13.75”x19” Art Nouveau. Outer measurements of the frame are 16 3/8" wide, 22 3/4" high at the center, about 1 1/4" deep. It fits 13 3/4" x 19". Classic Art Nouveau era frame with top having broken arch designed. carved wood with a gesso application and a gold gilt color finish that not has a dark patina from age. The professional photo portrait is Dorothy Wiggin who was married to Arthur Merserve Wiggin of Brookline Mass, I acquired it from the estate of their son Henry Taylor Wiggin who passed away in 2007. The Wiggin family was quite prominent and wealthy and dated back to 1600's New England. The maker of this frame I am certain is an important name although it is not signed. Nice solid & sturdy condition with no damage, the old gilt finish has a few tiny dings, glass panel cover is fine, sepia portrait photo is fine - see my detailed pics.
