MAGNIFICENT Antique HAND CARVED Wood CHRISTMAS ANGEL- INCREDIBLE #4 Lute Player

Description: A customer walked into our summer shop this past July- she tells me I'm not going to believe all the stuff that she has discovered for me- and begins to tell me about a house, stuffed to the gills down by Milwaukee. "You need to come and take a look for yourself- you're not going to believe it." She then digs out a photo album- from the house she is telling me about....in the album are all kinds of photos of family- but more importantly MANY shots of the inside of the house- even better for me- shots from Christmas' long ago. The family had something to do with making beer and moved into this residence in 1924. I went to the house in the fall. One of the things I searched for were these angels- to which this is the 4th example. Four of them were in the house- and I remember a picture of them on a mantle with greenery and holly at their feet. As I mentioned this is the fourth of the four. It's hard telling a country of origin. I discovered in an attic the size of some peoples house- many incredible carvings. I think these are either German or Italian- no matter, each is incredibly Beautiful. This 4th example is a winged angel playing a Heavenly Lute. From the depth and detail of the wings to the expertly carved hair, to the serene face. This is a STUNNER. Over the Top Beautiful! The wings detach from the angel figure. Note the delicate and precise details to the hands holding the lute and her expression.. Whoever buys this example will be More Than Pleased with the Purchase.
