Book Description: Originally issued in the period between 1845 and 1860 the prints of Alfred de Marbot are without question one of the most important resources for the historian studying the French army during the 16th Century through the end of the Napoleonic Wars. The influence of Marbot is obvious in the later works of such artists as Lelipievre, Rousselot, and others.Our prints are reproduced from the original first issue hand colored lithograph editions. Each print has been scanned and cleaned to restore the original vibrant colors. As the original prints were quite large (approx. 11X16) we have had to do some reduction to keep our format size. In this process we have kept the subject of the print as large as possible and in many instances only the size of the border has been reduced from the original. MFA 16C - 14 plates. This new series from Uniformology presents reprints of only the color plates that were found in numerous well known uniform reference works of the past. As many of these studies were in foreign languages, no text is reproduced, except for English captions to each plate. As many of these works are extremely scare and expensive on the market, this presents the color uniform plates at an affordable price to the miniature painter and collector.
