Description: This rare Marx Mercury passenger set is a must-have for any collector of vintage model Marx trains. With the original gray-green color scheme with cream stripes this is streamlined replica design of the NYC Mercury express than ran from Cleveland to Detroit from 1936-1959. The Mercury was an "articulated" train set, all the cars interconnected, and this model is as well. Cars connect together through roof pins, making one long seamless streamliner. This tin car is ready to go and pre-built for either analog control on a two or three-rail system with "clockwork" windup. (key not provided, easily found) Cars average 8 inches in length and 3 inches in height, this O-27 gauge car was manufactured in the United States in 1938. It comes with a "clockwork" engine, wound up and runs on two three rail track. (Not powered) I ran it around the Christmas tree in loop, not having wires makes it convenient and safe around pets and children. The gray/green Mercury has minimal paint loss, but there some scratches throughout, please examine photos provided. Email me if you would like additional shots or have questions. Due to age, sold as is, no returns please. TCA Member, number provided upon request.
