Description: SHOOT-OUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY By Luckett P. Bishop FACTUAL REPRESENTATION NOT RETREAD HISTORY Folks, the reason I love to read this old history is because I learn something new every day. If you had a Colt 45 and ran out of bullets and there was none to buy – old timers knew of another fit. Yep, Winchester’s 44 – 50 would work and, in this story, a box of fifty was available and fit the bill. This is but a smidgen of fascinating history full of genealogical treasures and seldom found, Texas Ranger history. I must confess that my wife and I have spent hours on our indexing and, if we have made a mistake, please call it to our attention. This is a massive history of an event that made big news on Christmas Day of 1883. The story is entitled SHOOT-OUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY and the author, Luckett P. Bishop, Sr. writes with a knowledge of the actual occurrence or a recital of those that witnessed the event . There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on eBay every day but the rarer ones about the pioneers of the old west like this one are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be included in this offering at no additional cost. We are trying to keep history alive. Hope you appreciate the effort. SHOOT-OUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY By Luckett P. Bishop Folks, sooner or later, Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If we can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it's worth all the time we spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Ancestors, Forefathers, Soldiers, and our Native American Indians, our indexed listings will include all names mentioned in the story from this time on.
