Description: Danish designer Bjørn Wiinblad was one of the high profile contemporary designers chosen by traditional German china brand Rosenthal when they entered into the modern design wave of the 60's/70's. The "Lotus" pattern in its basic form is a 3D embossed overlapping leaf design on all white porcelain with a translucent quality akin to fine china. From there judicious color details were added as variants, in this case Wiinblad's green hand painted impressionistic flora added to edges became "Jade". The logo markings date these 4oz demitasse cups and saucers to a period from 1970-1979. Very nice size for stronger after-dinner coffee or, as in Germany at the time, mocha. Sold as set of 4 cup and saucer, with two sets of 4 available.
