Description: MCRR MAINE MICHIGAN CENTRAL RAILROAD TALL ADAMS WESTLAKE LANTERN CLEAR CAST GLOBE NICE CONDITION This is likely a Maine Central but could be Michigan or Midwest. This tall frame lantern is in nice condition with some minor patina areas on the lid. It is a very strong frame. The cast wording on the dome is very deep and clear. There is some minor finish wear on the metal surfaces and a few tiny depressions on the dome. No dents and no dings. The color is a medium gray. The lid is nicely cast with M.C.R.R. The inside dome area is very clean. The cage is well shaped. The lid and cage have some additional lighter colored areas that looks like the tinning solder used during assembly. The handle has some slight bends and has a slight texture. The brass burner is the screw on type and is easy to insert and remove. The wick moves up and down but gets stuck about and inch or so from wick top when elevating. The wick has some minor wear in that area so it probably just needs to be replaced. The burner area is very clean. The fount does not have any holes or damage but the bottom has been repaired. The lower area of the frame has an interesting pattern of finish wear. The globe is in great condition with no cracks and no chips on the surface. It is nicely cast with M.C.R.R in a wide oval panel. It is very clean with very little surface wear. It has some very minor imperfections from the manufacturing process. The top and bottom edges have very little wear. Nicely cast with a Cnx logo. It is a very clear and attractive globe.
