Description: This is a 24-inch African beaded tribal necklace.I am the artist for my eBay store, Glade Creek Art. I live in the mountains in the middle of Tennessee. Ok, let's talk about this piece. The glass beads are from Ghana, Africa. The glass is recycled glass, gathered by the women, and crushed into a powder by the men. It is then put into clay molds and put into the wood fired kiln. Of course, it's much more complicated than this. These amazing artists live in the Kroboland Mountains in Ghana. The yellow beads are amazingly perfect vintage to antique Krobo. Antique Krobo can be defined by the size of the hole in the center of the bead. Older beads like these have bigger holes. The gray glass beads are new Krobo. Made the same way with crushed powder glass. The white disk beads are polished bone beads made from water Buffalo, species Bubalus bubalis. I used heavy nylon coated wire, all stainless steel parts and clasp. All of my work can be cleaned gently with a warm, soft cloth. Thank you and view my other work. Kimberly McNeice Glade Creek Art
