Description: This was removed from a working point of sale system at a business that closed. I connected it to my windows 10 Pro PC, found drivers on the web and it scans UPCs with a bright red line. As a test, I opened wordpad, put the cursor in the document and it pasted the numbers of the bar codes I had it read into the wordpad doc (aim it at a bar code and press the button). There's a motor sound when the red light is on (the laser is vibrating / moving back and forth to make the red line?). It times out after a couple seconds and you have to change the orientation - tilt it up then back down put it down - to wake it up. I haven't worked with these before, but would figure that's a feature to save wear and tear on the unit that the light doesn't stay on all the time Used in a smoke free office Please check the pictures for condition and what's included (just the scanner, no stand; and you can see the label is peeling of a little).
