Description: Michoacan Mexico Hand Painted Medium Size Burnished Pottery Vase Brown Birds w/Floral Design Excellent Preloved Condition No Chips or Cracks This medium sized handmade pot is from Huancito a remote village in Michoacan, Mexico which is known for its burnished style pottery. This pottery is made in a method that doesn't involve glaze instead uses the method of "slip and polish" using stone or pyrite to create its unique finish. Visually, these pots are simple with two or maybe three different colors but the hand painted designs on the surface of the clay are very detailed and intricate. The bird and floral designs against the deep brown chocolate color of the pot makes for a beautiful picturesque piece of pottery. This piece would like amazing in most decors styles from Modern to Southwestern. Dimensions: 7" (Height) 8 1/2" (Diameter) Please note (review all pictures-use zoom option) that this item is vintage.
