Description: Midcentury Circa 1960 French Decorative Hand Painted Hand Crafted Ceramic Faience Birdcage made in France. The cage stands on scroll feet over a scalloped apron decorated with foliage motif .The roof is dressed with a brass hook and sits on a four-side rectangular body. The inside features a porcelain parakeet birds sitting on an oak branch. The cage is marked on the bottom. Height 15" (without hook), body width 9" (10" on the bottom), body depth 7" (bottom 8"). Great condition. Light wear consistent with age and use (light crazing, mainly on the bottom, a little bit on the body ). You may need to secure the dowel rods to the birdcage to keep the birds straight otherwise the birds will spin. (That's the way the birdcage was manufactured). Please check pictures for condition.
