MINTY Black ROLLEI 35 Compact 35mm Camera w/ Carl Zeiss 40mm Tessar, Cap & Case

Description: Here's a RARE Rollei 35 Compact 35mm Film Camera--- a camera from the 1970's or 1980's, in the more desirable BLACK finish--- and it's Gorgeous! It has a Carl Zeiss 40mm f/3.5 Tessar lens with a Compur shutter. It comes with it's original Strap and Lens Cap, and it's soft Case. I'm not very familiar with this camera, have not shot any actual photos with it and I'm not a Camera Store technician. But I can tell you it's in Superb Cosmetic Condition--- with only very slight signs of use--- no dings, scratches or noteworthy damage. Really 99.5% MINT! That's about it for cosmetic issues---- Look at the pics. I could just say it's "untested, sold As Is" like so many sellers do, but I like to be honest. SO.... Functionally, it winds smoothly and the shutter speeds fire at different speeds, but the slowest ones--- 1/4 and 1/2 stick open. The 1/8 speed seems a bit slower. The others sound/look good, but have not been "bench tested" for accuracy, so I don't know how accurate they are. The f-stop sets perfectly well and operates fine. The viewfinder is bright and clear. Does the light meter work? I don't know---- I put in a battery but I don't see the needle move, but maybe I'm not doing something right. Or maybe from sitting so long it's stuck... BUT the camera operates manually without it. The lens glass is fairly Gorgeous--- from the front it looks crystal clear with brilliant coatings--- no dust, no scratches, no haze, no fungus. From the back, there is a Hint of fog, so if you're going to be a Noodge and shine a flashlight through it (a totally unreliable diagnostic method) then this camera is not for you. In reality--- the lens will shoot fine. So that's about all I can tell you--- I have not tested it with film and I'm not too familiar with all the nuances of this camera, but it still operates reasonably well, and once it gets back to work, maybe even better. AND it's a GREAT COLLECTOR PIECE in this condition. What you see is what you'll get--- please examine the photos. Continental US Shipping will be $12.50. I've been a photographer for 30+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for and can recognize when something is broken. But I can't "Bench Test" everything to factory specs, and understand every little bell and whistle. So I'm sorry, I can't sell this item on Approval--- it's being sold As Is, No Warranty, No Buyer's Remorse, NoTry-outs, No Nit-picking, No Returns..... Sold As Is with noted flaws. Any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge and I try to be detailed and truthful, but I can't describe every every millimeter of it. Unless it's Brand New... I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be Perfect... especially when it's a 40+ year old item! (and if it was brand new the price would be 50% higher). As expected with age, a used vintage camera could be found with a nick or blemishes here and there or a few additional specs of dust inside that I failed to mention, particularly inside the viewfinder... but they won't affect the photos and would hardly diminish it... unless you expect everything to be 100% Perfect. What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown.
