Description: This is an unusual book. It is the 5th edition and includes the 2-sided list of errata. All of these are also hand written into the pages throughout. "Griffith, R. W." Is printed in pencil on the fronts page with the number 1, and then Modern has a penciled number 2 and Chess Openings has a penciled number 3. The rest of the fronts page has other proofreader marks and corrections in pencil. How intriquing to see! I don't know if you would consider the name in pencil a signature. Or if this would indicate that R.W. Griffith was the original owner of this book. I have photographed several of the pages showing the added corrections. This book has a stamp and number from the National Central Library. The number is also on the outer spine base. The cover is intact with wear showing light scuff on the front cover and cracking on the outer folds, but the inner front and back covers are in excellent condition. Please examine the photographs provided. Thank you for looking or bidding and buying.
