We do not test the metals for content or age. Some very old ones are in wonderful condition because they have been safely stored away for almost a century. Thank you for your interest in the following item: Offered is one Rosary Chaplet, with Pardon Crucifix that could date to 1905 (this is old, not a copy) with beads from a Monk's broken Rosary estimated to be about 70 yrs. old, more or less -- so you can imagine the "million" of prayers the man sent through his fingertip aura, to Heaven. Please NOTE, the beads are from the very old Rosary. These beads don't show alot of wear -- some prayers rub their beads raw, and some gently hold them or just hang them on a wall. So these are in great condition. The medal ALSO belonged to the Monastery. This is called a Pardon Crucifix, for it carries the worlds of: FATHER FORGIVE THEM and BEHOLD THIS HEART WHICH HAS SO LOVED MEN and on the front, JESUS NAZARENUS REX JUDAEFORUM (I think I read it correctly). A Pardon Crucifix is considered a "True Weapon against Satan." Such a cross was first created around 1902-1905 then in 1905 Pope Pius X declared Purgatory Indulgences for carrying and kissing the Cross. So to own such a medal, which might be as old as 1905, and for it to be not just Blessed by a Priest but to be owned by a Monk in a Monastery, is pretty fabulous and rare. The back of the Crucifix includes the tiny Sacred Heart of Jesus. Little Jesus has been inspected and is safely and firmly attached in original form but since he's probably at least 100 yrs. old, please be gentle. (Some people like to rub little Jesus figures too much with their prayers until they fall off the Cross.) If you want a very Blessed and Sacred item in your home, and a wonderful Rosary to pray, you might consider this item. It is also large enough to hang on a nail next to your bedside. Or carry it safely with you to Mass. So Spiritual, so lovely. Since this is Vintage, please realize it is not brand new. Its value comes from its former life in the Monastery. It's one thing to own a Blessed Rosary, and by far more splendid to own one with beads prayed for approx. 70 yrs +/-. Thank you for considering this BIG little Rosary.
