Description: A very sharp, very lightly run, MTH 20-2607-1 BN #2221 Dual Motor GP-30 with Proto-Sound 2 (3 volt) for O gauge 3-Rail. A Scale Premier engine made in 2005. Works great with Lionel, Williams, K-Line and other 3 rail O/027 gauge trains. **Runs on 027 style track just fine but O-31 or larger curves are required**This sharp looking Premier Burlington Northern GP-30 diesel engine features MTH ProtoSound 2 (3 volt) electronics which provides for both Conventional transformer control (fwd-neutral-reverse) and supports MTH DCS Remote control (requires a DCS control system of some type.) Additionally, the engine features dual large vertical "maintenance free" can motors with fly wheels, detailed plastic shell, metal frame/ trucks/ details, engine speed "cruise" control, 8 wheel drive with 4 traction tires, bright directional headlights, illuminated green front & red rear markers, two crewman figures, fan driven smoke unit, operating front & rear electro-couplers (in cmd mode) and ProtoSounds to include diesel engine, horn, bell, PFA & random freight dialog. Comes with optional snowplow on the engine.***Note: the rechargeable battery has been replaced with a BCR battery replacement so the engine is free of battery worries***The engine can operate on any 3-rail O/027 gauge track system and can run on O-31 or larger curves. ***Note: In conventional control mode the electro-couplers will function as a "fixed" couplers and transformer (or separate) Whistle/Horn and Bell controls are required to activate the Horn, Bell & PFA sounds. No controls are required for the diesel engine sounds & random dialog.***I lubed the rollers & gears, replaced the traction tires and then briefly tested this engine in conventional &DCS mode on my layout and the motors, lights, smoke, conventional control functions and sounds all worked great! ***Note: This engine has been re-set to ID "1" and confirmed to work with the MTH 50-1033 DCS Remote Commander***I regret that I do not have the original box for this engine but I'll provide a copy of the MTH engine instructions and I will wrap & pack with care prior to shipment.
