Description: Please look at all FIVE photos. Born to poverty in Cookeville, Tennessee, in 1927, Sloan served in the Navy, then graduated from Tennessee Tech University. He later graduated from Vanderbilt Law School and moved to Memphis where he became a successful Lawyer and eventually, a Memphis City Court judge. Later, he was charged and convicted of income tax evasion and went to prison for several months. During the trial time, there were no fewer than 85 reports about him in the various Memphis newspapers. After his release from prison, he set about rebuilding his life. In 1980, he was diagnosed with both colon and liver cancer and died in 1985. This copy was inscribed, then SIGNED by Donald Gene Sloan in 1986. He was the author's younger brother. Published in 1982 with a limited printing of 2000 copies, the book is softcover, 129 pages with 12 chapters and 68 B&W photos and illustrations. It is in Good-to-Very Good condition. There is just a hint of wear to the book, but there is a very limited amount of staining along a small part of the top edge. Not sure, but it could be from coffee. Some of the stain came down onto a few of the pages, but the vast majority of all pages are clean. The book will be carefully packaged to insure safe shipping. Sent with the book are 2 pages of additional related information. FREE SHIPPING & TRACKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bookseller since 1999. A.
