Description: The RX-5100 was a very popular early 80's boombox from Panasonic. It was featured on the cover of Rodney Dangerfield's 1983 album "Rappin' Rodney". In addition to its cassette deck and radio tuner, it also has Line Inputs that you can connect to your external music source. And there's a nice LED meter above the tape deck. It has 4 speakers (12cm woofers and 3cm tweeters). The English service manual claims it makes 2x5 watts, but the Japanese literature says it's really 2x4 watts by the Japanese EIAJ/DC industry standard. Frequecy response is 50 to 13,000 Hz when using Chrome tape. It takes 8 D-cell batteries. Everything works, both tape deck and radio work flawlessly. Visually 8/10.
