Description: Offered for sale: Used c1933-1934 National Style O Model Resophonic Guitar serial number S4766. This resonator is in very good condition. The action and neck angle are just right. Cosmetically there are various nicks and marks primarily on the back of the neck, general playing wear without abuse considering the age of the instrument. This c1933-34 Style O resonator guitar has the distinctive feature of the "rolled-in" f-holes in the top which was used only for a short time in this period. The 12-fret rolled f-hole guitars like this are considerably rarer than the earlier "flat cut" or later 14-fret body variations, with less than 1,000 Style Os made to this pattern in 1933-4. Many players, including the late National scholar Bob Brozman, consider them the best-sounding of all single-cone Nationals. General notes regarding the Style O: “Single cone resonator, nickel plated body with sand blasted Hawaiian scene on back and palm trees on front and solid area on sides, round shoulder, upper F-holes, round neck, dot inlay fingerboard, bound ebony fingerboard. There were 6 different variations in the sand blasted Hawaiian scene, and 8 total Style O variations if you include body changes. Four of the six sand blasting variations were used on the 12 fret models.” More specifically regarding the 1933 National Style O guitar specs: “Brass resonator cover plate, nickel plated, rolled edge f-holes, Resonator cover with small holes drilled in diamond patterns and four embossed radiating lines, ebonized maple fingerboard. Front scene: 1 palm tree with CLEAR center, MORE clouds and stars.” Martin hard shell case included. We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available. This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing. *It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature. If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
