Broken Down Angel Nazareth’s 3rd studio album which was originally released in 1973 by A&M Records. Razamanaz was produced by Deep Purple bassist and studio wizard Roger Glover and was recorded at the groups Ganghut, Scotland with the Pye Mobile Unit. At this point in their career, Nazareth had to leave their native Scotland in view of the fact that they could not seem to break through to the masses. Nazareth started playing gigs around the London circuit of clubs and gained quite a following. Had they not done so, Nazareth would likely have been relegated to playing top 40 hits in back in their homeland. Their popularity around London from the shows they played is what peaked the interest of A&M Records to offer them a recording contract. The end result was that they were well received abroad, including America. From that point on, they became a force to be reckoned with. Razamanaz is one of Nazareth’s harder rocking albums and features the hit ‘Broken Down Angel’ as well as other key tracks, such as ‘Vigilante Man’ and ‘Bad Bad Boy’. Ironically, the song ‘Woke Up This Morning’ which was re-recorded for this album certainly woke up and worked up the charts everywhere because it was Nazareth's first album to break the charts!
