After making their record debut on an indie label in 1985, they made their major debut on Capitol Records in 1986. After that, with their golden 1990s lineup including guitarist Marty Friedman and drummer Nick Menza, they announced their fourth visit to Japan in March 1993, including their first performance at the Nippon Budokan, after the release of their 1992 album Countdown to Extinction. However, this visit was cancelled due to health issues among the band members, and they never performed at the Budokan in their eight subsequent shows in Japan. It's been 30 years since the cancellation of the Budokan concert. Megadeth will finally take to the stage for the first time with their new album, which is causing a sensation around the world. To commemorate this visit to Japan, this tour edition, which was specially authorized for release only in Japan, adds two new bonus tracks to the much talked about new album [The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!] that is the basis of this Japanese performance. [This Planets on Fire], which features guest appearance by Sammy Hagar, and a 2021 live version of Megadeth's early masterpiece [Spell of Death], which were included on the CD released in some overseas regions, have been newly added to the CD. The lead single from this album, [Will Be Back], has been nominated for the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 65th Grammy Awards in 2023. The CD is SHM-CD specification. The tour edition also includes a DVD featuring five music videos, from the epic, action-packed short film-style video for "Will Be Back: Chapter I" that tells the origin story of Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead, to their latest video, "Killing Time: Chapter V."
