Certainly not surprising to me, as I’ve enjoyed Dr. Carl’s pipes for years. From design through the technical architecture, his attention to detail makes all the difference in these magnificent smokers. Dr. Carl has discovered that ‘sweet spot’ in incorporating material with method in his pipe making craft that us die hard pipe smokers desire in lighting our favorite tobaccos. This Signature Gold Carved Bent Apple is one of his finest pipes to date. The draw is so smooth on this one, you could breathe through it! Ruggedly handsome, this deeply carved, craggy old gent is as appealing to the eye, as is its full 2.4 ounce weight in the hand. This is a tactile pipe!! Certain to be cool in the palm with its thick bowled briar, the deeply carved rustication allows for maximum air flow and heat dissipation around the stummel. I am humbled to offer this custom handcrafted original by Carl Harris. A master artisan, friend and mentor, I have already commissioned him to do something similar in this style for me, though this signature pipe is truly one-of-a-kind. You can see the stem is a fancy acrylic black/antique gold swirl making this a bold modern look with notes of classic architecture and old world workmanship. Most importantly, for those of us that have the experience, Carl Harris pipes are ALL top of the line smokers. This handsome signature class Apple is balanced with perfection. A pipe you will want to hold in your hand as much as actually smoking it. The bowl chamber is meticulously designed for great tobacco burns and long smokes.
