The set is the "1970 CENSUS OF POPULATION" Part 34 NEW YORK Sections 1 and 2, both of which have the heading "Characteristics of the Population". The two volumes were issued as a set. The information contained and the breakdown of that information is quite amazing. This set is an Ex-Library one but still very decent (it does not have the usual very obtrusive qualities that a typical ex-lib book has), in fact, the interior pages have minimal library markings and are very clean, bright, and white. There is minor moisture stains at the front and rear inner hinges of Section 2 but they do not effect the interior pages in any way. The exterior has the remnants of the library stickers on the spine and a library stamp on the top edge. Overall a GOOD set, but please (check the photos to judge the condition for yourself). The books are fairly large (approx. 11-1/2" high by 9-1/2" wide) and combined they weigh almost (9 lbs.). I have not found any other sets for sale.
