Nice 1960's Tim McCarver Rawlings DB 25 catchers mitt glove RH USA Cardinals

Description: Here is a used vintage 1960's Tim McCarver Rawlings model DB 25 baseball catchers mitt made in USA for a right-handed thrower and thus fits on the left hand. McCarver was a right-handed thrower. The mitt is youth sized measuring 11" long through the pocket, 10" straight across and measures 31.5" around the exterior. The mitt was made from 1967 through 1969 with McCarver's endorsement. Over that time the mitt sold at retail from $22.75 to $24.40 when the top line Rawlings mitt sold for $50.00 - $52.50. My adult hand doesn't quite fit into it. It does also have nice wool padding underneath the backstrap. Stamped on the front of the mitt is DB 25, Rawlings, Made in U.S.A., Professional Model, Deep Well Pocket, Hinged Pad and Tim McCarver (facsimile signature). The only thing stamped on the back is 100% Nylon Sewn. There is also a nice original red, black and white cloth Rawlings patch which is folded a little, but still all there. There is no owner's ink on the mitt. This mitt has hardly been used and is hardly broken in. The thumb and pinky finger loops are both intact and workable. The mitt has soft leather front and back on the exterior and nice smooth leather on the interior, with no chafing on the interior leather. The lacing is original with light wear here and there. The piping around the mitt is leather and in nice condition. The mitt has readable stamping and has a nice Rawlings patch on the back. It has full wool padding on the underside of the backstrap. Tim McCarver played 21 seasons (1959-1980 but didn't play in 1962) mainly as a right-handed catcher (batting left-handed) in the Major Leagues and is mainly remembered for his seasons playing for the St. Louis Cardinals teams that won the 1964 and 1967 World Series. The Cards also lost the 1968 World Series to the Detroit Tigers. He was a catcher. He was a 2 time All-Star. He began his career with the Cardinals from 1959-1969 and later again in 1973 and 1974. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies. He also was a well-known long-time TV baseball announcer.
