Description: Norman Rockwell "Trumpeter" (Sour Note) Color Lithograph - Signed & A/P. This original Norman Rockwell is called "Trumpeter", sometimes also known as "Sour Note". This piece was the illustration feature on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post in 1931. The art features a man sitting on a sack of potatoes playing a trumpet along to sheet music with a puppy peeking out watching him. The colors range from depression browns/grays, to vibrant reds and blues. If you look closely you can see a reverse reflection of the print in the backdrop of the paper. This artist proof piece is signed "A/P Norman Rockwell" in pencil. There are small spots on the paper that you can see in some of the photos. It does not appear to be water damage, I am unsure of what it could be. I did not remove the piece from it's frame. The art measures approximately 23 1/4 inches long x 18 1/4 inches wide. This piece is framed in wood measuring approximately 30 3/4 inches long x 24 3/4 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches thick. The frame has very light wear. The piece is covered in acrylic, not glass. The back of the frame has a wire that appears sturdy and strong.
