KNIFE CARE To maintain the quality of your knife, do not store it in the leather sheath for extended periods of time as leather may absorb water and cause rust. After each use, wash and immediately dry the blade and apply WD-40, vegetable oil, or Vaseline to prevent rust. If the blade has already become rusted, use 600 grit sandpaper to remove the rust before applying WD-40, vegetable oil, or Vaseline. To sharpen the blade, use a ceramic rod and hold the knife at a 20-degree angle while gently drawing the blade from the handle end to the tip. Repeat the same process on the other side.
