Description: Here is a kit to build a 1:48th scale 4-wheeled switcher never before available in O Scale-- the GE 25-ton "Dinky" used by hundreds of shops and railyards within the P&W, LIRR and innumerable others. This kit is designed to use the abundantly available K-Line Plymouth switcher as a donor frame-- the K-Line handcar frame could also work. I have included photos showing both an assembled model and the actual unbuilt kit-- you will have to provide your own donor chassis. Each kit consists of a body, a frame, a dozen handrail bases and four new body screws. The body is printed with high-definition UV cured resin while the frame and handrail bases are printed with sturdy ABS filament. The kit includes the #2-56 screws that will hold the new body to your K-Line motor-- you will have to tap the screw posts in the resin body with a #2-56 tap, and supply your own 0.050"dia wire to fit the handrail bases and mounts. The K-Line reversing unit from the donor frame will fit inside the cab (the original smoke unit won't fit though), and you can reuse some of the machine screws from the donor to mount the original K-Line couplers. I can supply additional photos from my personal build if helpful. Ken's Model Miniatures specializes in kits, scale models and custom parts for the hobbyist. All of my models are designed, fabricated and assembled right here in the United States. In addition to model train kits, I also have model cars and planes in multiple scales (including reproduction Tootsietoy, American Flyer and Marx parts), so take a look at my other items and see what I'm offering.
