Description: ARTIST: OEL GRAVES (1897-1971) (O.E.L. Graves), BUD GRAVES, LISTED, Early CALIFORNIA VINTAGE PLEIN AIR LANDSCAPE OIL. Active with the Palm Springs Desert Art Center in California along with other desert painters such as Paul Grimm, Swinnerton, John Hilton, Wilton McCoy, Fred Penney, and more. Signed lower left, "Bud Graves". Dated '43 (1943), this is a very early rare work by O.E.L. "Bud" Graves, oil on canvas. A small puncture at lower center part of canvas close to stretcher bar (see photos). Also a scrape/fleck can be seen on the right side of the painting, light edge frame rub. Light restoration needed in these areas. As found, vintage condition, could use a light cleaning. LISTED: Palm Springs Desert Art Center Artists (1965), Palm Springs Life. O. E. L. Graves was an American artist and painter/sculptor based in Palm Springs, California during Hollywood's golden years.
