Description: *********** Up for auction is an original artist rendition of soldiers during the Franco - Prussian War. There's a lot going on in this image and it's clear! The image dates to the late 1800's, maybe turn of the century and measures approximately 13.5" x 7.5". There's an artist name in the right corner with the date of '93 (1893) but I can't decipher the name. Embossed in the lower left corner is the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met opened in 1870). The difference in contrast is due to one picture taken with camera the other... scanned. I would say the actual color is somewhere in between. If you're interested in the wood frame the piece came in, let me know... but it will cost more to ship. When viewing the pictures of the auction item, please take note of the *actual measurements* of the item in description. In some cases, photos are enlarged to show detail.
