Please take a look at my other merchandise at your leisure.You are bidding on: Vintage Photograph Pacific Electric Steeple Cab No. 1599 Los Angeles, California ~ 1940s ~ Pacific Electric no. 1599 was built by the PE shops as a sister engine to no. 1600. It spent most of its life working in the 8th Street Yard. No. 1599 was sold to Argentina in 1951. 1600 was scrapped in 1948. This original photo was taken and also developed by Paul C. Jones. A child in the 1920s, he was a life-long avid lover of PERY and the rails. Active as photographer in the 1940s and 50s. He lived in Hermosa Beach and did a lot of railway commuting while working at the North American Aviation plant in Inglewood in the 1940s. The print was made in the 1950s as this - and the other photos I'm listing - were all stored together in very old, waxed, brown paper bags which kept the large prints clean and fresh these many decades.Photo Measures 8 x 10 Inches.
