Its history dates back to 1920, when the Ceskoslovenska Cestovni a Dopravni Kancelar or Czechoslovak Travel and Transport Office was founded. The abbreviation CEDOK was first used in 1926 and this acronym also became the name of the company. During socialism, Cedok was for many years a dominant player in outbound tourism in Czechoslovakia.The company has been owned by the Polish travel agency Itaka since 2016 (Wiki).
