Description: This is an original Austro-Hungarian Medal for Bravery (Tapferkeitsmedaille), an award established in 1789 and continuing until the end of the First World War. Silver Class, and I believe some degree of Sterling content to the pendant. There is a small hallmark (could by a stylized letter "A") but it is very tiny and difficult to ascertain precisely. The ribbon is in excellent condition, as you see, but has not been properly folded into the typical triangle shape found on other Austrian-Hungary medals. Pendant measures 30mm across. PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues at all with an item you purchase please CONTACT ME and I will make every effort to work it out to your satisfaction. Failing to make an effort to work out a solution is a poor reflection on the customer and justification for refusal to do business with you again. Please check out my other Ebay listings for more interesting, rare and unusual military insignia, berets, uniforms and field kit. I have been collecting international militaria for well over thirty years, focusing primarily on camouflage combat uniforms, elite unit berets, and special forces/airborne/elite unit insignia, so you can bid with confidence. As founder/director of the International Camouflage Uniform Society (ICUS), long-time member of Chute & Dagger (airborne/special forces insignia society), and creator of Camopedia.org, the international camouflage pattern database, I am always pleased to hear from other collectors with similar interests who wish to share information, help with identification, arrange trades, etc. All items in my auctions are described accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and are believed to be genuine unless specifically stated otherwise. All items are sold as is, and all sales are final. Contact me if you have further questions, but please be polite and articulate if you want an answer. Thanks for looking and best of luck!
