Description: Up for sale is an absolutely amazing and one of a kind item. These binoculars were owned by a major in the US military who was sadly killed during the sinking of a Japanese hell ship. You can see the binocular case is where he wrote his name, at the time he was a captain, and eventually was promoted to major. These binoculars originally were sold out of his home state and are only one or two steps removed from the family. I am not the greatest researcher out there, but I was able to find 8-9 pages of information on the major. We can only imagine what this great hero went through on this hell ship. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. Hell Ship items bring a premium since they are so sought after, and so incredibly rare.
