Description: This exquisite Epitaphios is a rare find for collectors of Orthodox Christian vestments. Documents that accompanied the vestment recorded that is was handmade by Teresa and Fred Iorio of New Jersey in the 1990s. The cloth measures 42 inches in length and 25 inches in width. It is made of luxurious red velvet with the laminated 17" x 20" icon sewn into the center and trimmed in red and gold braid.It is designed to be used on Holy Saturday / Good Friday services in the Eastern Orthodox church. This beautiful, one of a kind Epitaphios ready to be used and would make a unique and valuable addition to any collection of vestments. It has been stored in a fitted plastic bag and it is in very good condition.
