Description: This MAGNIFICENT cotton 1870's touching stars quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, on a vibrant solid red background with a chrome yellow calico border.It measures 80" X 90" and is in excellent condition, with the occasional small age spot and no wear. The hand quilting is superb, with close straight line, feathered wreath, heart, and other designs in the background, all at an even 8-10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are the same early red and brown print, and the batting is thin. Two blocks have monograms hand quilted in them.
