Description: French Creil Transferware Creamware Plates These delicate French creamware plates feature scenes of military, scenic and religious significance. The rim features medallions of classical figures as well as an embossed leaf border. Produced in the early 19th Century in Creil by Par Brevet D'Invention. Printed mark to back as well as incised "Creil". I do have a set of 12 of these, all with different transfers. Approx. 8.5". Documentation: Similar pieces in possession of The V & A Museum online reference, Referenced in Kybalova "European Creamware" p. 100 & 101 Condition: Roughness and chipping to edges, discoloration, knife marks, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected.
