The main difference is that this is a fixed lens at (0.98) which is just at the outer range of the ET-ELW22 since it's able to zoom from (0.78-0.98). You would also adjust the focus by hand since this is a manual lens and, just like the ET-ELW22 lens, it has a fair amount of room available for lens shift. You can save yourself some money if your application can justify its use. You have a 30 warranty in case it will not work out for you. We have used these lenses and the original ET-ELW22 side by side and the image output was the same.
