Description: This antique leather bound prayer book, produced for the diocese of Albi in the south of France, dates from c1837 (judging by the dates in a calendar on an early page) with text in French and Latin. I haven’t been able to determine exactly whose coat of arms it is on the front cover but it belongs to an archbishop. Comprising morning and evening prayers, confession and communion prayers, Mass prayers, and more. Including gospels and hymns for Sundays and major festivity days of the year. There are over 1100 pages and the book measures 15.5cm x 9.5cm x 5.25cm. The book has wear and tear to the covers and some of the pages have water stains around the edges. Some of the earlier pages including the frontispiece appear to be missing (photo 10 shows the opening page). The last couple of pages are detached from the previous pages but are not loose as they are still connected to the rear cover. Please check out all the photos to see condition.
