Description: ~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~A beautiful vintage , French valance / pelmet dating c 1940's . This lovely textile came from a large chateau in Central France . This textile is part of a set being sold individually ~This valance has lovely trim and is lined with a stiff, hessian giving it great strength for hanging. The front fabric is a woven silk and cotton mix, heavy weight which is how it has survived in such good condition! ~ The trim feels like it could have rayon in the blend ( a fiber available since c1899. however the body of the trim feels like pure silk ) This piece was once hung by nails and the top has little nail holes that are surrounded by rust. This textile is backed in a natural satinized cotton. Lovely for hanging, cutting and using for many windows! ~*~ ~ ( PR 778) ~ MEASUREMENTS: This beautiful valance measures : 105 inches and the drop is approx. 16.5 inches at the deepest point of the scallop. CONDITION : This panel is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. This textile has nail holes that most have torn up to the top ( about half of an inch??) so the top inch will have small holes surrounded by rust ~. There are some other small holes too and the backing has a couple of tears ~ There is fading on the trim ( please use the zoom feature to view this closely )
