Description: PENNY WOODEN DOLL - FOUND IN AUSTRIAN TYROL - 7" HEIGHT - CLOTHING NOT ORIGINAL This doll would date somewhere between the 1880's - 1900's era and is referred to as a Penny Wooden Doll (some call them Dutch dolls also). She stands in height approximately 7". She was originally found "as new" in the Austrian Tyrol in an old shed with many in a box and sold by a Melbourne dealer back in the 1980's after being sold to her. These wooden dolls were made to sell nude and for their new owners to dress at the time and crudely carved with jointed limbs and then the heads painted along with the lower parts of the legs and arms. The lady who owned this doll prior to myself made it a whole set of clothes and she is ready to display. She is in fabulous condition and only ever been in a cabinet since purchased.
