GLUE USED- BRIDGE, NECK SEAT AND FRETBOARD Liquid Hide Glue GLUE USED- INTERNAL BRACING, SEAMS and BINDING Tight Bond 3 I have been building so many customs I haven’t had the time to devote to my Ebay guitars. Many have inquired. I am still here. I finally decided the time had come to finish the 7 Ebay guitars that have been partially built for months. This is the fourth of them. This is one of our Signature Series. My oldest Son asked about getting his name on the business card. I told him to contribute something. He came up with the idea of "Signature Series" builds. Using the same wood for front, back and sides... that is affordable and would sound good. His name is now on the business card. This guitar is all Rainbow Tulip Poplar. I have built eight other "Signature Series" using this same wood. It is proven by the excellent feedback offered by those who took the chance on a unique guitar. It has a nice tone. There is good balance across the board. Distinct highs and excellent low side. No mud in the middle. The response is 'right now'. Good volume without trying hard. It plays very comfortably. The string action is light and low. And it is uniquely beautiful. The colors are outstanding. Wonderful bookmatches. Someone is going to be very happy with this instrument. Hard Case not included in sale. I will offer a Pizzecci hard case as an extra for $100 after sale. I also will offer to the winner the option of upgrading to Acoustic Electric capabilities. I will install for the winner either a Belcat 7545 for $95, a JJB Prestige 330 (K&K mini clone) for $125, a Fishman Presys+ for $150 after auction close. And please read the short bio following here... it is important you know just who this guitar builder thinks himself to be... Biographical Information: After repairing guitars for many years, in August of ?08 I decided to try my hand at making custom acoustic guitars. Not kits, but from scratch. I do my own lumber selection, resaw pieces for custom bookmatching, dimensionally sand each piece, make bracing and shape them with scalloping, make gluing strips, bend sides, fretwork, saddle and head nut cutting, binding, and finishing. On my first two or three guitars, I made necks, fretboards, bridges, and heal and tail blocks from scratch. I found I could do it fine, but that it was labor intensive to the point that I now purchase some parts from outside sources. I may still do my own fretboards or bridges to add to the custom look of the guitar I am creating, but as a whole now, the pieces I customarily buy predone are my neckblanks (Martin), fretboards (Martin), bridge blanks (Martin), and heal and tail blocks (Martin). I use a Solara Table, allowing infinite forming possibilities, and assuring each guitar is slightly different from the next. I also have crafted and use my own concaving templates for the fronts and backs. I built a machine to radius my custom fretboards. I have no laser beams, CDC cutting machines or robots in my shop. My guitars are human hand made, and subject to human hand miscues. Like the flaws in fine leather, it proves it is authentic. I also use no stain, shading or coloring on the woods I choose to use. Nature does just fine, and the natural color of the wood is good for me. I know that the wonderful and talented luthiers out there, whose talents I immensely admire, probably roll their eyes at some of my guitars and unusual wood selections. However, I see them as an art form release for me, my daughter having coined the word ?GUITART? to describe what I am doing with this wonderful hobby, and not knowing any better sometimes leads to some quite remarkable pieces. And just FYI, I am also a player, and understand what tone, action, and appointments I should expect from a quality built and properly set up guitar, and try to parlay that into my work. The name I chose for the logo is a rendering of our family name that was once thought to be as it was spelled when my grandfather arrived in the USA from Italy in 1912. I since have learned it wasn't the correct spelling, but I always liked it, and now am using it, even though it holds little significance other than being my favorite of the wanna bees. That would represent my guitar building well I hope. I determined early that I would build ten guitars to provide my learning curve, naming them after my family members, and then maybe afterwards, having learned enough what not to do, I would attempt building and offering them for sale to the public. There are now 606 Pizzecci Guitars built or in process. This one represents the 588th in the production line, and 542rd by the Dad. While I find it easy to assess the sound, quality and playability of those name brand guitars I repair and resell, I find it quite difficult to talk the same way about my own. But I will do my best. And here are a couple of unsolicited gifts offered by purchasers and present owners of my guitars... number 33 ... and number 163... and number 464... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7UokHTDRc0&layer_token=4e9c004978afa964http://youtu.be/l_o8yzfVBH4 https://youtu.be/REscxQh8azY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0JUPBzPUi4 (New... Thanks Tony)I am not a luthier. I am a hobbyist. I do this because I love doing it. I have had no formal training. I have studied much and I am still acquiring tools that make my efforts better in the end, but if you expect the precision and the quality found in Taylor, Martin or Gibson high end acoustics, you expectations are too high. I would suggest you pay the big bucks instead of anticipating my feeble attempts at this craft will equal that of the masters. Real luthiers might criticize or question my work. Some have. I probably would do the same in their attempts at preaching. However, if you consider the price, and solid wood construction, and the love and attention placed in the effort, then you might consider my guitars a pleasant surprise. That being said... I am continuing the use of my triangular inlays as my fret markers, which will be showing up on all of my guitars I predict. Just never seen anyone else do it, and I like that. I started making the small swoosh at the end of the fretboard, and it has evolved a little from the initial introduction, which has now been named by my son during his first build as the 'Pizzecci Eyebrow'. Looks just like one over the sound hole. That will probably stick. Headstock design will probably be the same from now on too. My daughter helped with that. Binding, for which I always use solid wood, continues to be my Achilles heel. There are some human glitches, and I continue to seek perfection but haven't yet. Some small lines of fill can be discerned around the binding edges here and there. These gaffs are getting better with experience and time. Someday I might make a perfectly bound guitar. I'll get there. At any rate, I try to hide any small goofs, dinks or clinks, if there are any, blending fill and wood shades as closely as I can. I don't buff either. So my guitars can show some slight imperfections in the finish. My guitars are as good as my two human hands can build them? without the help of robotics, or without computer aided cutting machines, and with my limited but growing dedicated luthier tools. Just needs saying. However, I don't think you could get another custom built solid guitar like this one, even with its 'character', at my asking price, anywhere. Now, since retiring, I am build these custom guitars in my spare time, which thankfully I have more of than I used to. It is a hobby, intended to be nothing but a hobby, and I hope it will always stay that way. I said that already, but just in case you missed it the first time. I have a great time doing it, and I hope by my pricing it is obvious that I am not trying to make a business out of this. I don't need to sell guitars to continue selling guitars, and I don't have profit margins to meet. I would hope that some folks out there might be able to afford a solid wood, custom built guitar that otherwise might have been out of reach financially. My guitars will be accompanied by no formal guarantee, but I am willing to work with anyone having issue with anything I sell. I am confident enough in my building and repair to offer my guitars as potential lifetime investments. I offer this piece for your consideration. To the 98.9% of the honest, interested, intelligent and paying Ebayer's out there, I say thanks and blessings.
