Description: Vintage PLANT Tuscan China Made In England Pattern # 8229H Gold Rim & Medallion cake plate and 5 dessert plates. RH and SL Plant were part of a generational family of potters dating back to the mid 1700's. They manufactured porcelain at the Tuscan Works in Longton, England circa 1936 - 1947. In 1966 their company was acquired by Wedgewood and renamed Royal Tuscan. This set has beautiful gold borders and a lovely gold star medallion in the center of each plate and the serving plate. Square shape server has raised reliefs in each corner and gold embossed handles. It measures 9" handle to handle. The dessert plates measure 6" (6 3/4" on the diagonal). They are wonderful examples of early English fine bone china.Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some light crazing on one plate only. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage item. These items are previously owned and used and will rarely be in perfect condition. It is normal for these items to display some wear and flaws from use and age.
