Description: Three porcelain tiles from the Hungarian artist Endre Szasz (1926 - 2003). Szasz considered himself a Folk Surrealist painter and illustrator, often working with porcelain as his medium. This tiles are signed (bottom, center) and are part of a Limited Edition. They were originally attached to an invitation to an art gallery event at the Phyllis Morris Gallery in Los Angeles in the 1980s. They were manufactured in Hungary by the Hollóháza porcelain company and date to the late 1970’s. My late father acquired these from Szasz himself, as he was his representative in Los Angeles during the artist's stay here. Dimensions are 8.5cm x 11.5cm (~3-3/8” x 4-1/2”) and are in excellent condition. They can be framed or displayed on brass stands and would make a fine addition to any Szasz collection.
