Description: OOAK Peasant Granny Doll from the Late 1800s! This handstitched French Peasant Granny Doll is a SPECIAL FIND for Collectors. With her medium dark complexion, blonde silk hair and blue eyes, this 23-inch lady is made up of cotton, muslin, wood, silk, and sawdust and has a soft, posable body. This original, one-of-a-kind doll comes from the Late 1800s as the tag attached that came with her shows. (See Photos.) It reads: "23" ptd mask face lady peasant from France, applied silk eyebrows, cloth hands, stitched fingers--Bottom of shoe is marked France, Late 1800s." Whether she was designed by a dollmaker of yore for display or as a plaything for a child, she is in Very Good condition for her well-over 100 years as I have kept her carefully stored and have never seen another like her.
