Description: Beautiful and Old Majolica St. Clement Dog, 11"L x 7 1/2"H x 4 1/2"W approx. I have many art pottery/ art glass/ collectibles/ antiques/ majolica listed on eBay from time to time. This is an original version and RARE St. Clement dog circa 1920-1930. The original animals have soft, gently blended coloring and glass-like appearance (while the newer ones have high gloss and very intense solid colors.) This original version is larger, 11”, (while the newer dogs are smaller from about 10”.) The original animals especially the dog, leopard and grasshopper are hard to find (to be followed by the seated monkey.) This St. Clement dog is in excellent condition as I did not find any chip, crack or repair except a tiny glaze wear to one ear which was hand touched up by a studio artist and hardly noticeable. It is marked St CLEMENT/FRANCE/862-2. Like most antique majolica, it has some crazing and discoloration. Please disregard the lighting glares.Thanks and good luck. Our Ref: 3971
